What's New For the 2021 Toyota Prius?
In 2021, changes arrive for the Toyota Prius inside, outside, and across the board. The Toyota Prius is more technical in 2021 than it was in 2020 with an improved infotainment system. This system, which is standard on the Limited and optional on other trims, features a high-resolution touchscreen display. The system upgrades from a seven-inch display screen to an 11.6-inch display screen. More modern safety aids are added to all trim levels of the Toyota Prius, with more advanced safety features included on the higher-end trims. You can opt for a new trim this year, called the 2020 Edition, with blacked-out exterior accents and matching black interior styling cues. Topping the 2021 lineup is the Limited trim level, which brings more luxury features such as high-quality upholstery and heated seats. The all-wheel drive editions of the LE and XLE trims have fog lights and LED accent lights for visibility and style.
2021 Prius Trims and Features
The first in the 2021 Toyota Prius series is the L Eco trim. Many of the same features for the L Eco carry over into the new model year, including the seven-inch infotainment display. It supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa is now standard. New features for the L Eco include more safety aids. The LE also gives you the option of all-wheel drive, as does the XLE trim that follows. Heated SofTex seats are added to the XLE. The 2020 Edition offers the same amenities as the LE, but its interior and exterior color schemes are a matching black. The Limited gets upgraded upholstery, a new infotainment system, and a sunroof.

2021 Toyota Prius Horsepower
A hybrid powertrain is standard on all 2021 Prius trims. The powertrain uses a gasoline engine and a 2-motor electrified system to drive the Prius. With the 1.8L V4 engine and electric motors combined, the Prius is capable of generating 120 HP. The standard drivetrain is front-wheel drive in most trims, while you can get the LE and XLE with an electronic all-wheel drive system called AWD-e. All Prius trims use a continuously variable transmission.
Toyota Prius Safety
A bundle of safety technology is included on all 2021 Prius trims. Toyota's award-winning Safety Sense 2.0 suite offered across the board. The package is equipped with safety technologies such as forward collision mitigation, road sign assist, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning. Parking sensors and blind-spot warning are added on the upper-level trims. Tire pressure monitoring and airbags are standard on all trim levels of the 2021 Toyota Prius.
