What's New For the 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser?

The Land Cruiser has some changes in store for consumers in 2021. Most changes affect the Heritage trim, which is the newest trim added to the Land Cruiser series. The Heritage, which debuted in 2020, now offers a standard eight-seat maximum capacity on the base level. Power and performance are still the same, and always impressive, for the Land Cruiser in 2021. Additional updates include an expanded palette of exterior paint colors and additional add-on options, including more technology.

2021 Land Cruiser Trims & Features

Two trims are available for the Land Cruiser in 2021. The base edition holds eight people with bench-style seats in the back that also split and fold to provide more storage space. The base trim has leather seating. The Land Cruiser's sound system includes a CD player, 14 speakers, and hands-free audio streaming. Its technology includes a nine-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth, navigation, and app support. Wireless device charging is included on both trims. You can also get a dual-screen entertainment system for the back row. A dual-level center console is standard in the Heritage trim, and you can order special seats with bronze and black trim. Keeping devices charged is simple, with 12V power outlets in the center console and another in the cargo area.

The Land Cruiser's dynamic engine includes a 5.7-Liter V8 engine with 381 HP and 401 LB-FT of torque. This engine is connected with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A direct electronic ignition system is standard, and the drivetrain is four-wheel drive with active traction control. Both trim levels have a top towing capacity of 8,100 pounds. An independent front suspension is also standard.

The Land Cruiser has a comprehensive safety package in 2021. It includes advanced airbags, lane-keep assist, lane departure alert, forward collision warning, and pedestrian detection. A 360-degree camera is standard. Additional safety features are included for towing, including a separate towing safety package.
