Under the hood of the 2021 Toyota Highlander, you'll find a 3.5-liter V-6 engine rated up to 295 horsepower with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle is also available in a hybrid form, with a powerplant producing 243 horsepower. Front-wheel drive comes standard, and all-wheel drive is available for those who prefer more traction. The acceleration is solid, allowing the vehicle to reach 60 mph in 7.3 seconds.

When taking sharp turns, the SUV manages to feel composed and doesn't have a lot of body roll. It also drives smoothly on different roads and has an excellent suspension system.
