What's New For The 2020 Toyota Corolla?

Many vehicles undergo design changes from one model year to the next, but in 2020 the Toyota Corolla offers something new and much different. This year, the Corolla has been completely redesigned, inside and out. The latest Corolla is chock full of the latest in technology and safety equipment. It also features a bold, sporty new design that makes it the most futuristic, innovative, and distinctive Corolla yet. Every edge of the Corolla gets a bold new look, starting with its bright LED lights that are slightly different for each trim level.

The 2020 Corolla features more standard technology this year too, which includes a seven-inch infotainment display screen on the base trim and eight-inch infotainment display screens on the others. Cutting-edge technology, including Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa, also comes standard on the Corolla this year. Other highlights of the 2020 Toyota Corolla are the fact that it comes with larger (18-inch) wheels in addition to the regular 16-inch wheels that were the only size available in the past. A new engine is available to make this year's Corolla faster and more powerful, and for the first time ever you can order the Corolla in a hybrid version.

Which Features are Available for 2020?

Counting the hybrid, there are six trim levels available for the 2020 Toyota Corolla. The base model comes standard with a seven-inch infotainment display screen, which gets upgraded to an eight-inch infotainment display screen on the higher-end trims. Even at the lowest level, the infotainment screen comes standard with Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, and Apple CarPlay. Moving up to the higher trim levels, you'll get a larger eight-inch infotainment system with WiFi, navigation, hands-free management, and voice recognition.

At a minimum, the Corolla has a six-speaker sound system, but you'll get a higher-quality sound system at the higher trim levels. A metallic gray paint color joins the lineup this year to ensure your Corolla gets precisely the right look. On all trim levels, you'll get a 4.2-inch driver's information display screen, which can be upgraded to a seven-inch display screen instead. Both are color screens that show a variety of information about your car, such as speed, fuel economy, and distance traveled.

Along with the standard features, there are a number of available features to customize your vehicle's look, too. These include additional safety features, adaptive front headlights, and combination headlights. Smoke-colored lenses are available for the outer lights based on the trim level that you choose.

A Perfect Blend of Power and Fuel Efficiency

2020 Toyota Corolla Exterior FrontThe 2020 Toyota Corolla is created with three different engines. The base engine is the same one that powered Corollas in the past. This engine is a four-cylinder that produces a maximum of 139 HP. The second-level engine, which is one of the new ones for 2020, is a more powerful 2.0L engine, also with four cylinders, that generates a maximum of 169 HP. The third engine is the hybrid. The gasoline engine produces up to 121 HP, while the secondary electric engine creates up to 71 HP. With these two engines, the hybrid gets an improvement in fuel economy of nearly 20 MPG over what you'll find with the standard Corolla.

Affordability and Packed with Safety Features Galore

Eight airbags are located throughout the cabin, and every car comes with Toyota's innovative Safety Sense package. This package includes lane-change alert, lane-keep assist, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, and radar-managed cruise control. The Toyota Corolla also comes with an intelligent highway sign interpretation mechanism that allows it to read highway signs and project them onto the driver's dashboard.
