What's New For the 2020 Toyota Camry & Camry Hybrid?

The midsize sedan is all about commitment with a cabin committed to rider satisfaction and a trunk committed to payloads. The Toyota Camry is wholly committed to being the best midsize sedan around. In 2020, that commitment includes the addition of the Camry TRD, Toyota Racing Development, model. This latest addition improves road handling, but there's more to it than that. There's a lot to all the 2020 Camry models.

2020 Toyota Camry Interior

2020 Toyota Camry has Varied Trim Levels & Countless Features

The six standard Camry models, the L, LE, SE, TRD, XLE, and XSE, along with three hybrid versions, the LE Hybrid, SE Hybrid, and XLE Hybrid, provide the same latitude overhead with 38.3 inches up front and 38 inches behind. Legroom is just as profuse at 42.1 inches in the first row and 38 inches in the second. For Camry L purchasers, this cavernous interior is joined by air conditioning, 6-speaker audio, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

If the addition of 3 USB ports along with a 60/40 split back seat sounds better, go with the Camry LE. The SE edition takes LE amenities and puts them in a Camry with black wheel rims and a mesh grille. The TRD model gets control of the pavement by using a pedestal spoiler and aero skirts. The ultimate pleasure is found in 2.5-liter XLE and XSE editions that include two-zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen, leather trim with front heated seats, a CD player, LED headlights, and a Qi wireless charger. If the V6 engine option is chosen, add a moonroof and nine speakers to the mix.

What's Under the Hood of the 2020 Camry?

2020 Toyota CamryTwo standard engines, a 2.5-liter I4, and 3.5-liter V6 mesh with a single transmission, an 8-speed automatic, to give buyers a choice between an economical 203 horses or a formidable 301 horses. With the I4 selection, expect a frugal 29 mpg city and 41 mpg highway. Going with the V6 option brings 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. Then again, take the third alternative in the LE, SE, and XLE hybrid editions and experience two drives in one. A 2.5-liter I4 operates in tandem with an 88 kW electric motor and an eCVT transmission to attain 44 mpg city and 47 mpg highway while outputting a combined 208 horses.

2020 Toyota Camry Safety Technologies

Every type of crash test used by the IIHS came back with a rank of Good for the 2020 Camry. In fact, they even gave it the Top Safety Pick + title last year. Five stars all round from the NHTSA second this assessment. Airbags, antilock brakes, a backup camera, and traction and stability control do their part, too. Toyota Safety Sense integrated into all Camry models takes things further.

Whether it's a person or approaching vehicle ahead, this technology can spot the danger and take action like warning the driver or operating the brakes. There's also the ability to identify when the vehicle is unexpectedly off-course based on turn signal activation. In response, the driver is notified while the steering is gently turned to put the car back in alignment.
