What's New for the 2019 Toyota C-HR?

The Toyota C-HR (Coupe High Rider), a subcompact crossover SUV, is looking sharp and loaded with safety features in 2019. The 2019 Toyota C-HR releases a new entry-level version with the LE which might put it within the price range of more interested buyers. Price adjustments were also made on the trim packages. There are new features on the XLE trim but the price has risen. This year's model does offer a bigger infotainment touchscreen now and new Apple CarPlay compatibility.

A New Evolution of Trims and Features for 2019

The new entry-level LE has a wide variety of standard features available. We will focus on the additional trims as the LE has proven itself as a feature rich icon. The XLE trim package will offer 18-inch Sport alloy wheels with blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert system. The Limited gets that and the leather seat trim and upgraded audio system options. The Limited also offers LED fog lights, chrome window trim accents, and a rear bumper garnish in red.

There are 7 color options for 2019 C-HR along with 5 two-tone options that combine into another color on the roof. Color options include Silver Knockout Metallic, Ruby Flare Pearl, Blue Eclipse Metallic, Black Sand Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Blizzard Pearl, and Blue Flame.

Does the 2019 C-HR Perform Well?

2019 Toyota C-HRThe C-HR is powered by an inline-4 that sends 144 horsepower through a perpetually variable automatic transmission and is available as front-wheel-drive only. It performs well with good handling and steering for a vehicle in its price range. Its front struts have Sachs dampers and a brawny stabilizer bar. The independent rear suspension has double wishbones.

2019 Toyota C-HRWhen it comes to safety features, the 2019 Toyota C-HR is loaded. The C-HR comes with the popular Toyota Safety Sense P system a suite of safety features including a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, a lane change alert with steering assistance, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. It also features the brand's electric parking brake and brake holder.

The Star Safety System includes stability control, traction control, anti-lock brake system (ABS), brake assistance, and Smart Top Technology. If that's not enough, it also has 10 airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all seating positions and more.
