Add a dash of springtime to your winter at the 32nd Annual Cathedral Flower Festival! This beloved local tradition returns to Omaha from Jan. 28-29, 2017, bringing a little bit of vibrant color to balance out the white and grey hues of January. In celebration of Nebraska’s 150th birthday, the festival’s theme is “A Shared Story,” so don’t miss out this celebration our great state’s history.

Every year, thousands of Nebraskans arrive at the historic St. Cecilia Cathedral to admire the sights and sounds of this beautiful festival. Each floral display on site is hand-created by a local designer, giving florists throughout the city the opportunity to showcase their unique work in an even more unique setting. Be sure to give yourself lots of time to admire each display, and bring a camera to capture your favorites.

There are also many other activities to enjoy at the festival, including live music and entertainment and photography displays. Food will be available for purchase, courtesy of Wheatfields bakery, so be sure to bring a little bit of pocket money!

The festival will be open on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., then later that evening from 7-9 p.m. On Sunday, Jan. 29, the festival’s hours are limited from 1-4 p.m. It’s recommended that you arrive early to beat the crowds and avoid waiting in a lengthy line. While the festival is completely free to all in the community, donations will be accepted.
